A parliamentary democracy is a form of government where the executive branch derives its legitimacy from and is accountable to the legislature. In this system, the head of government is usually the leader of the majority party in the parliament, and they are responsible for running the government and implementing policies. The parliament, made up of elected representatives, holds the power to make laws, scrutinize the government's actions, and can remove the government through a vote of no confidence. This system allows for a separation of powers between the legislative and executive branches while ensuring that the government remains accountable to the people through their elected representatives. **

State parliamentary elections are separate from federal elections and are specific to each individual state within a country. The outcome of these elections can have a significant impact on the governance and direction of the state. **

A parliamentary republic is a form of government in which the head of state is a president or a monarch, but the actual governing power is held by a parliament. The parliament is responsible for making laws, forming the government, and overseeing its actions. The head of government, usually a prime minister, is elected by the parliament and is accountable to it. This system allows for a separation of powers between the head of state and the head of government, and promotes a balance of power between the executive and legislative branches of government. **
